Neil & Will M layed out a line transect in the reserve (same as above) with quadrats layed out at 10m intervals and we took plant samples (which we are yet to identify) and estimatied the number of species in each quadrat and the percentace cover in each quadrat for the dominant species.
Questions:
Do we have a good list of the native plants? Can you identify them?
no (yes if you include the 1992 herbarium), no (with time maybe)
Are any of these plants particularly significant - rare or endangered, important to indigenous Australians as food, medicine or for making objects?
Not that we know of,
Where do you find them? Can you map the changes in diversity, abundance and distribution of plants?

A particularly important issue that arises from our research regarding native plant growth is the area surrounding the oval that is alarmingly not established which can cause issues regarding the animals welfare. This can be countered by a focus on the planting around this area of appropriate plants that can tolerate the relatively high sand percentage of the soil so plants such as the ones around homestead 1 should be looked at for being planted.
